I think Rollins' comments make perfect sense, and by the way, have you ever heard his rendition of FRANKLIN'S TOWER?

I kid you not. It is virtually unrecognizable from the Dead version (no surprise there) but the lyrics are all there, and it is amazing to hear his punk-thrash take on a standard Dead classic.

Rollins admired and respected the Dead even though their music was miles from his own.

I used to have that Franklin's version on a CD that was rleased as an e.p. of B-sides and outtakes from Rollins, but lost it long ago. Totally worth seeking out if you don't have it.

Thanks for his words putting guys like Marsh in his place!
